My name is Elvis Orejobi,
An Ambassador for Enterprise, Financial Literacy Advocate and Investment Strategist on a Mission to Build 10 Million Financially Free Nigerians and Africans through the Right Knowledge.

Most Nigerians say they want to invest.
But the moment they hear:
Lock your money for 2 years.
Lock your money for 3 years.
They disappear immediately.
And that is exactly why many people remain poor.
Not because they don't make money.
But because they don't understand the difference between:
Saving money.
Growing money.
And preserving wealth.
The Federal Government of Nigeria releases the FGN Savings Bond.
And The offer will be closing on Friday.
One is paying:
• 13.777% annually for 2 years
The other is paying:
• 14.777% annually for 3 years
And immediately I made a post about it few hours ago, I realized many people still don't understand what FGN Savings Bond actually is.
So as a Financial Literacy Advocate my mission is to democratize and localize wealth building in Nigeria and across Africa.
Let me explain it in the simplest way possible.
Imagine Mama Ngozi sells tomatoes in a village market.
One day, the village leaders announce:
We want to build better roads.
We want electricity.
We want a healthcare centre.
We want to improve the market
"But we need money."
Then they tell everybody:
"If you lend us money today, we will pay you interest every year, and your money will remain safe."
Now imagine Mama Ngozi lends the village ₦1 million.
That is exactly how FGN Savings Bond works.
The only difference is that instead of lending money to a village...
You are lending money to Nigeria.
Yes.
When you buy FGN Savings Bond, you are simply lending money to the Federal Government.
And in return, they promise to pay you interest.
Simple.
No complicated finance grammar.
No magic.
No miracle.
No "double your money in 30 days."
No "bring two people and earn commission."
No Ponzi scheme.
Just lending money to the government and receiving interest.
Now let me explain something most people don't understand.
When you buy FGN Savings Bond...
You are not lending money to President Tinubu.
YES...
You are lending money to Nigeria.
Big difference.
Because governments come and go.
Presidents come and go.
Governors come and go.
But Nigeria remains.
That is why FGN Savings Bond is considered one of the safest investment instruments available to ordinary Nigerians.
In finance, we call this a "sovereign-backed investment".
Meaning:
The full faith and credit of the Federal Government stands behind it.
Now let me shock you.
The reason many wealthy people like investments such as this is not because they want to become rich overnight.
NO....
It is because they want to stay rich.
There is a difference.
WHILE...
Poor people often focus on multiplying money.
Wealthy people focus on protecting money first.
Because there is no point making money if you cannot preserve it.
Now as your Street Accountant let's use a practical example.
Assume you invest ₦1 million in the 14.777% FGN Savings Bond.
That means approximately:
₦1,000,000 × 14.777%
= ₦147,770 yearly
Now here's the interesting part.
The government does not wait until the end of the year before paying you.
They pay quarterly.
Meaning every 3 months.
So your interest is divided into four payments.
That means approximately:
₦147,770 ÷ 4
= ₦36,942 every quarter.
Every three months.
Just for lending your money.
And if you are disciplined enough...
You can take that interest and reinvest it.
This is where compound interest starts working.
And this is exactly why we built the Fokona Investment Calculator (100% FREE to use)
Because many people hear compound interest...
But they don't truly understand how powerful it becomes over time.
The calculator allows you to see what happens when interest continues working for you year after year.
Now let me also tell you something important.
Just because the minimum investment is ₦5,000 does not mean everybody should rush and invest ₦5,000.
Let's be realistic.
If ₦5,000 is all you have in the world...
FGN Savings Bond may not be your best option right now.
Why?
Because FGN Savings Bond is a long-term investment.
It is not designed to make you rich quickly.
It is designed to help you preserve wealth gradually.
That is why I often compare it to land banking.
Because....
When somebody buys land today...
They are not expecting miracles tomorrow.
They are buying for the future.
That is exactly how FGN Savings Bond works.
Patient money.
Not emotional money.
Now here's another secret many people don't know.
The rich often use investments differently from the poor.
The average person buys an asset and leaves it there.
The wealthy buy an asset and then borrow against the asset.
Read that again.
Some investors accumulate investments such as bonds, treasury instruments and other financial assets.
Then use those assets as collateral when they need financing.
Meaning the asset keeps working...
While they still access liquidity.
This is one of the reasons financial literacy is so important.
And that's why I build Fokona.
Because sometimes the biggest difference between wealthy people and struggling people is not income.
It is understanding how money works.
Now before you rush to invest...
Please remember this.
FGN Savings Bond is not school fees money.
It is not rent money.
It is not emergency money.
It is not hospital money.
It is not the money you will need next month.
Only invest money you can comfortably leave untouched for the investment period.
Because the biggest reward in investing does not come from intelligence.
It comes from patience.
And that is the lesson most people struggle to learn.
Everybody wants quick money.
Very few people want long-term wealth.
But wealth has always rewarded patience.
Not urgency.
Not excitement.
Not pressure.
Patience.
And that is exactly why FGN Savings Bond remains one of the most underrated investment opportunities available to ordinary Nigerians today.
