Abuja, the capital city of Nigeria, is fast becoming a hub for creative expression, and one artist making waves in the industry is Tijany Nana Hauwa.
This talented artist, based in Abuja, is known for her captivating murals and textile designs that showcase her unique perspective on Nigerian culture.¹
Tinany’s journey into the world of art began at the University of Lagos, where she studied Visual Arts, majoring in Textile Design. Her passion for art was evident from a young age, and she's been making sketches and drawings since childhood. After graduating in 2015, she became a full-time visual artist, focusing on mural paintings that often feature patterns and themes related to textile design.
Some of Tijani’s notable works include murals at "Step Inn" in Victoria Island Lagos, "Tim & Carol Gallery of Art" in Ikeja GRA, and "EV Record Studio" in Opic Isheri. Her art is inspired by nature, her environment, and human expressions, and she's known for using lines and shapes to create murals that tell stories.
Tijani’s talent has earned her recognition, including a solo exhibition at BISRTO LATIN in Douala Cameroon in January 2023, and a group exhibition at the 'Oranyan Festival of Art and Crafts' in Oyo State, Nigeria in 2015. She's also had her works presented at the Tim And Coral Gallery of Art.
As a female artist in a male-dominated field, Audu has faced challenges but has also found opportunities to learn and grow.

She's passionate about using her art to tell stories and inspire others, and her work is a testament to the vibrant creative scene in Abuja.
